Grand Boulevard, or "The Boulevard" as it's known locally, a quiet and pleasant neighbourhood within the City of North Vancouver, combines the convenience of nearby urban amenities with the North Shore's renowned clean air and spaces. The community, built on a plateau and gentle south-facing slope overlooking the City of Vancouver, sits along 12 blocks of a wide grassy central boulevard. It is located with Lynn Valley to its north and Lonsdale Avenue to its west.

History

Around 1900, city planners had a grandiose vision to have North Vancouver ringed with a network of spacious boulevards, intended to make the community comparable in status with West Vancouver's British Properties. Due to the worldwide recession of 1913, this community was one of the few neighbourhoods to be completed according to these original plans.

Neighbourhood Attributes

With Lonsdale Avenue's shops and services a mere 15 minute walk away, residents can leave the car at home and take in the abundance of parks, gardens and Craftsmen-era homes that line the community's streets. Nearby Boulevard Park, with its tennis courts, soccer pitch, grassy fields, and playground offers easy access to recreational and family activities. Nature lovers and dog walkers have easy access to the trails of Greenwood Park and the magnificent Lynn Canyon Park.

The Boulevard is ideal for families with children, with newly constructed Lynn Valley and Lonsdale Central libraries, schools, recreation centres and registered daycares close by. Two local bus routes provide efficient and economical transportation alternatives to Lynn Valley Centre, Lonsdale Quay, Capilano University and Vancouver City Centre.
